French giants Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of Leipzig right-back Mukele on a five-year contract to 2027. The French defender has also become PSG’s third signing of the summer, following Portugal international midfielder Vittinha and young French striker Ekitik.
Mukele, born in 1997, is 24 years old and mainly plays as a right back, but can also serve as a central defender or a right midfielder. With a height of 1.87 meters, he has strong sprinting ability, excellent round-trip ability and fast speed, and outstanding shoveling. In 2018, Leipzig spent 16 million euros to sign him from Montpellier. So far, he has represented Leipzig in 145 games, scoring 10 goals and assisting 11 times. He played 37 games for the team last season, scoring 2 goals and 5 assists. He is an important defensive player for the team.
Since Mukele has only one year left on his contract with RB Leipzig, his transfer fee is low. A fixed transfer fee of about 12 million euros, and a floating clause of 4 million euros, for a total price of 16 million euros. In the German “transfer market”, Mukiler is worth 20 million euros.
Previously, the Premier League giants Chelsea also participated in the competition for the player. The Blues were even willing to add the former Leipzig ace striker Werner to the transaction, but in the end, Mukiler chose to join the homeland and join the French giants Paris Saint-Germain. In the new season, Mukele will be in the wingback position as Ashraf’s rotation, and can also appear in the central defender position, competing with Kimpembe, Marchinhos and Ramos for playing opportunities.
